Southern Tier Pumpking

Thursday, September 30th, 2010

I tried a Southern Tier Pumking yesterday after I finished cleaning the beer lines at the Lodge in Hilton Head and was blown away by how true to the flavor of pumpkin it was.  I like other pumpkin beers, but find that so many are more “pumpkin spice” than anything.  This beer tasted like what a pumpkin smells like when it is being roasted in an oven. It is more honest to name “pumpkin beer” than others I’ve had.

Founders Back in SC

Monday, September 20th, 2010

I had a Founders breakfast stout for the first time in a while yesterday.  I guess they had stopped allocation to South Carolina for a while but it’s back now.  They had it at the Griffon in downtown Charleston.  I know that they also have some at the Lodge in Hilton Head and I’m pretty sure they have the Nemesis lined up at Laura Alberts on  Daniel Island.  I also just got a growler full of breakfast stout from the Charleston Beer Exchange.
